ACC: Injury reports

Several coaches took advantage of the ACC's rule that only requires teams to release an injury report for conference games, but even with limited information, it's possible to assemble an all-star team comprised of injured players.

ACC teams released their injury reports yesterday. Plenty of talent is hurting after preseason practice. Here’s an all-star team of injured players.

The ACC doesn’t require teams to release injury reports for nonconference games, and several teams took advantage -- either releasing extremely limited information or giving no report at all.

QB: C.J. Brown , Maryland (knee, out). He’s backed up by Tony McNeal, Clemson (torn ACL, out for season) and Dustin Dailey, Maryland (ankle, out).                    

RB: Rolandan Finch, Boston College (lower extremity (foot), questionable) and Mario Pender, Florida State (sports hernia, out for season).

WR: Blair Holliday, Duke (out for season), Daniel Rodriguez, Clemson (shoulder, probable), and Tyrek Cheeseboro, Maryland (ankle, probable). NC State ’s injury report only lists players that are out for the game, and, since Bryan Underwood is a game-time decision, he’s not eligible. The position’s depth is also hurt by the fact that North Carolina, who has several injured receivers, chose not to release a report.

TE: Chris Pantale, Boston College (lower extremity (ankle), out).  Backups are Dan Hicks, Florida State (knee, out for season) and Braxton Deaver, Duke (leg, out)

OL: Gifford Timothy, Clemson (knee, will play), Daniel Foose, Florida State (back, out), Josh Cary, Maryland (knee, out), Tim Cwalina , Virginia (cardiac condition, out for year), and Lucas Patrick, Duke (ankle, out)

DL: Keith Bowers and Andre Monroe, Maryland (both are knee, out), Kenny Anunike, Duke (leg, probable), Anthony McCloud, Florida State (chest, out). This is the deepest position on the roster, thanks to Florida State’s depth. They have three other linemen -- Moses McCray (head, out), Jacobbi McDaniel (ankle, out) and Derrick Mitchell (back, out) -- listed on their report.

LB Kenny Tate , Maryland (knee, out); Kelby Brown, Duke (leg, out), and Michael Peek, NC State (ACL, out for year).

DB: Matt Robinson, Maryland (shoulder, out), Al Louis-Jean , Boston College (lower extremity (foot), out), Isaac Goins, Maryland (sickness (mono), out), Jordon Byas, Duke (leg, out).  

P/K: Nick Ferrara, Maryland (hip, out)
