The Western Michigan Broncos had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They took their game on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 58-13 win over the Akron Zips. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point WMU had established a 51-13 advantage.

This was the first matchup for both teams, starting off the Broncos at 1-0 and the Zips at a reverse 0-1.

WMU will be playing at home against the Toledo Rockets at 8 p.m. ET next Wednesday. Toledo is coming in off of a big 21 to nothing win over the Bowling Green Falcons. As for Akron, they will go up against the Ohio Bobcats at 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday at Peden Stadium.
