Army West Point vs. Western Kentucky Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Army West Point vs. Western Kentucky football game
The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers will take on the Army West Point Black Knights at 11:30 a.m. ET on Saturday at Blaik Field at Michie Stadium. After these two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one of them is set up to suffer a discouraging change of fortune.
The Hilltoppers entered their game last Thursday as the heavy favorite, and they fully lived up to the hype. They claimed a resounding 59-21 win over the UT Martin Skyhawks at home. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point WKU had established a 45-14 advantage. QB Bailey Zappe went supernova for WKU as he passed for seven TDs and 405 yards on 36 attempts. Near the top of the highlight reel was Zappe's 73-yard TD bomb to WR Daewood Davis in the first quarter.
A well-balanced attack led Army over the Georgia State Panthers every single quarter on their way to victory last week. Army blew past Georgia State 43-10. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 27-7. Army QB Christian Anderson did work as he passed for one TD and 40 yards on two attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 55 yards.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 1-0. Both the Hilltoppers and the Black Knights have easy wins in recent memory. We'll see which one's ego takes a hit when they face off.
