Baylor vs. Texas updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Baylor vs. Texas football game
The Texas Longhorns are 5-1 against the Baylor Bears since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. Texas' week off comes to an end as they meet up with Baylor at noon ET at McLane Stadium. The Bears will be strutting in after a win while the Longhorns will be stumbling in from a defeat.
Texas entered their contest against the Oklahoma State Cowboys two weeks ago without any home losses -- but there's a first time for everything. Texas fell to Oklahoma State 32-24. QB Casey Thompson had a memorable game, but not in the way you want to be remembered: despite one touchdown, he threw two interceptions with only 179 yards passing.
Meanwhile, Baylor was able to grind out a solid victory over the BYU Cougars two weeks ago, winning 38-24. LB Abram Smith had a dynamite game for the Bears; he rushed for three TDs and 188 yards on 27 carries.
Baylor's defense was a presence as well, as it got past BYU's offensive line to sack QB Jaren Hall five times for a total loss of 42 yards. It was a group effort with five guys contributing.
Texas is expected to lose this next one by 3. Those interested in the spread don't face an easy decision since they are 4-2 ATS and Baylor 4-2.
The Longhorns are now 4-3 while the Bears sit at 6-1. A couple defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: Texas is stumbling into the game with the 224th most rushing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up 14 on the season. Baylors have had an even harder time: they are 174th worst in the nation in rushing touchdowns allowed, with nine on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
