The Boston College Eagles fell to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 17-14 when the teams previously met four seasons ago; this time around, they exacted some revenge. The Eagles blew past Georgia Tech 48-27 on Saturday. That looming 21-point mark stands out as the most commanding margin for BC yet this season.
It was another big night for BC's QB Phil Jurkovec, who passed for two TDs and 145 yards on 21 attempts in addition to picking up 94 yards on the ground. WR CJ Lewis was in the mix, too, providing BC with two touchdowns.
Despite the loss, Georgia Tech had strong showings from WR Ahmarean Brown, who punched in one rushing touchdown in addition to catching four passes for one TD and 75 yards, and QB Jeff Sims, who passed for two TDs and 171 yards on 18 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 47 yards.
The game brought the Eagles to 4-2 and dropped the Yellow Jackets to a mirror-image 2-4.
BC will take on the Clemson Tigers at noon ET next Saturday at Memorial Stadium. BC is heading into an offensive buzzsaw as that squad is averaging 48 per contest. As for Georgia Tech, they will face off against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at noon ET next Saturday at Bobby Dodd Stadium at Historic Grant Field. Georgia Tech's defense will surely be attentive in the film room this week preparing for a Notre Dame offense that has put up 36 points on average.
