Cincinnati vs. Kansas: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Cincinnati vs. Kansas football game
3rd Quarter Report
Kansas already has more points against Cincinnati than they managed in total against Kansas State last Saturday. Kansas has a bit of a cushion as they currently lead Cincinnati 28-10.
If Kansas keeps playing like this, they'll bump their record up to 8-4 in no time. On the other hand, Cincinnati will have to make due with a 3-9 record unless they turn things around (and fast).
Preview
Cincinnati has been on the road for two straight, but on Saturday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Kansas Jayhawks at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. Cincinnati is expected to lose this one by six points, so we'll see if that gives them a bit of motivation.
Cincinnati gave up the first points and the most points on Saturday. Their bruising 42-21 defeat to West Virginia might stick with them for a while.
Despite the defeat, Cincinnati got a solid performance out of Emory Jones, who threw for 166 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Chamon Metayer also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
After a sunny season, Kansas has been experiencing darker times in their latest games. They took a 31-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kansas State. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Kansas in their matchups with Kansas State: they've now lost nine in a row.
Kansas' loss came about despite a quality game from Devin Neal, who rushed for 138 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry.
The losses dropped Cincinnati to 3-8 and Kansas to 7-4.
In addition to losing their last games, the two teams failed to cover the spread. Going forward, Kansas is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by six points. For those looking to play the spread, careful betting on Cincinnati: they have a less-than-stellar 4-7 record against the spread this season.
Saturday's contest might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. The Bearcats have been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 215.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like the Jayhawks struggle in that department as they've been averaging 202.2 per game. It's looking like Saturday's match might have some serious battles in the trenches.
