Clemson vs. Florida State updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Clemson vs. Florida State football game
The Clemson Tigers are 5-0 against the Florida State Seminoles since November of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. Clemson and FSU will face off in an ACC battle at 3:30 p.m. ET at Memorial Stadium. The Tigers have a defense that allows only 14.57 points per game, so FSU's offense will have their work cut out for them.
Clemson scored first but ultimately less than the Pittsburgh Panthers in their contest last week. Clemson fell to Pitt 27-17. No one had a standout game offensively for Clemson, but they got one touchdown from QB D.J. Uiagalelei.
Meanwhile, FSU ran circles around the Massachusetts Minutemen last week, and the extra yardage (586 yards vs. 241 yards) paid off. FSU steamrolled past UMass 59-3 at home. With the Seminoles ahead 38-3 at the half, the game was all but over already. Their RB Jashaun Corbin did his thing and rushed for one TD and 127 yards on 11 carries.
FSU's defense was a presence as well, as it got past UMass' offensive line to sack the QB four times for a total loss of ten yards. Leading the way was DE Marcus Cushnie and his two sacks. Those were the first sacks for Cushnie this year.
The Tigers are the favorite in this one, with an expected 9.5-point margin of victory. Now might not be the best time to take Clemson against the spread since they've let down bettors for the past five consecutive games.
Clemson is now 4-3 while the Seminoles sit at a mirror-image 3-4. FSU is 2-0 after wins this season, and Clemson is 2-0 after losses.
