Colorado State vs. Vanderbilt updates: Live NCAAF game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Colorado State vs. Vanderbilt football game
Game Recap
It was a close one, but on Saturday the Vanderbilt Commodores sidestepped the Colorado State Rams for a 24-21 win. This was a must-win contest for the Commodores as they bounced back from a huge upset against the ETSU Buccaneers last week.
QB Ken Seals hadn't helped Vanderbilt's cause all that much against ETSU last week, but the same can't be said for this game. No one had a standout game offensively for Vanderbilt, but they got scores from WR Chris Pierce Jr. and WR Cam Johnson.
Colorado State's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of RB David Bailey, who punched in one rushing touchdown in addition to snatching one receiving TD, and QB Todd Centeio, who passed for two TDs and 236 yards on 39 attempts in addition to picking up 75 yards on the ground.
The win got Vanderbilt back to even at 1-1. The loss dropped the Rams' record to 0-2.
The Commodores will look to defend their home turf next Saturday against the Stanford Cardinal at 8 p.m. ET. Like Vanderbilt, Stanford is also coming into the matchup bolstered by a recent victory. As for Colorado State, they will go up against the Toledo Rockets at 4 p.m. ET next Saturday at Glass Bowl. Toledo lost a close one recently, falling 32-29 to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Saturday.
