East Carolina vs. South Carolina: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the East Carolina vs. South Carolina football game
The South Carolina Gamecocks will take on the East Carolina Pirates at noon ET on Saturday at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. The Gamecocks will be strutting in after a victory while East Carolina will be stumbling in from a defeat.
USC got themselves on the board against the Eastern Illinois Panthers last week, but EIU never followed suit. USC was fully in charge, breezing past EIU 46 to nothing at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29 to nothing. RB ZaQuandre White had a stellar game for USC as he rushed for one TD and 128 yards on 12 carries in addition to snatching one receiving TD. One of the most memorable plays of the matchup was White's 63-yard touchdown rush in the fourth quarter.
The Pirates suffered a bitter loss last Thursday, failing to capitalize on an early lead against the Appalachian State Mountaineers. East Carolina came up short against Appalachian State, falling 33-19. Despite the defeat, East Carolina got a solid performance out of RB Keaton Mitchell, who caught six passes for one TD and 80 yards. One of the most thrilling moments was Mitchell's 63-yard TD reception in the first quarter.
East Carolina's loss took them down to 0-1 while South Carolina's win pulled them up to 1-0. We'll see if East Carolina can steal the Gamecocks' luck or if USC records another win instead.
