New bowl: With the Big East appearing to to be losing its spot as an automatic qualifier in the new postseason format, Joe Schad of ESPN.com is reporting that the Big East is looking to create a bowl game for its champion. The game would start in 2014, and they're looking to play in Florida.

Third time no charm: Rutgers defensive end David Milewski has torn his ACL for a third time, and he will miss the entire 2012 season. Its An unfortunate blow to Rutgers and Milewski, and there is fear that the third-year sophomore may be finished for his career. A fellow teammate described Milewski as "pretty down right now," and understandably so.

South Florida gets commitment, maybe more: South Florida got a commitment from DT Robbie Garcia Tuesday. In addition, the Bulls are in the midst of attempting to get Notre Dame transfer Aaron Lynch eligible for the 2012 season by way of a hardship waiver. Lynch was freshman All-American at defensive end.

Lemon back for the Orange: Wide receiver Alec Lemon will be on the practice field once camp opens on Monday. Lemon had offseason shoulder surgery, and his presence will be a boost for the Syracuse offense. “I’m not going to lie to you. That was a big thing for us because he’s been very productive," head coach Doug Marrone said Tuesday at media day, according to the paper. "He’s been a very good football player."

Cards C Benavides drops weight, gains agility: Louisville center Mario Benavides will be playing this season in a slimmer body: For the first time, he will be under 300 pounds. Benavides said that what he lost in weight, he gained in leverage and flexibility.

Temple gaining momentum on recruiting trail: The Owls have locked up a trio of 3-star recruits already, and they're stealing these players from larger programs.
