Florida Atlantic vs. Georgia Southern Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Florida Atlantic vs. Georgia Southern football game
The Florida Atlantic Owls will take on the Georgia Southern Eagles at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at home. The Owls will be seeking to avenge the 20-3 loss they suffered the last time these two teams played Dec. 5 of last year.
Florida Atlantic was expected to have a tough go of it last week, and, well, they did. They found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unfortunate 35-14 punch to the gut against the Florida Gators. Florida Atlantic was down 21 to nothing at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. One thing holding Florida Atlantic back was the mediocre play of QB N'Kosi Perry, who did not have his best game: despite one touchdown, he fumbled the ball once.
Meanwhile, Georgia Southern didn't have too much breathing room in their contest with the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs last week, but they still walked away with a 30-25 victory. Among those leading the charge for Georgia Southern was RB Logan Wright, who rushed for one TD and 178 yards on 26 carries.
Special teams collected 12 points for the Eagles. K Britton Williams delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.
Georgia Southern's win lifted them to 1-0 while Florida Atlantic's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Georgia Southern can add another positive mark to their record or if the Owls can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Georgia Southern's step.
