After losing to the Miami (FL) Hurricanes the last time they met, the Florida State Seminoles decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. FSU skirted past Miami (FL) 31-28.
The Seminoles' offense rushed out of the gates and came up with 20 first-half points. The Hurricanes weren't quite able to keep up, and the score was 20-7 heading into the break. FSU almost let the game get away from them in the second half, but they had just enough oomph to take it.
It was another big night for FSU's QB Jordan Travis, who accumulated 274 passing yards in addition to rushing for two TDs and 62 yards. FSU also got a nice defensive effort from DE Jermaine Johnson II, who took down the quarterback three times.

Miami (FL)'s defeat came about despite a quality game from QB Tyler Van Dyke, who passed for four TDs and 316 yards on 47 attempts.
FSU's victory brought them up to 4-6. The loss dropped the Hurricanes back to even at 5-5.
The Seminoles will square off against the Boston College Eagles at noon ET next Saturday at Alumni Stadium.
