Fresno State vs. Hawaii: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Fresno State vs. Hawaii football game
Game Recap
After losing to the Fresno State Bulldogs the last time they met, the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Hawaii strolled past Fresno State with points to spare on Saturday, taking the matchup 34-19.
The Rainbow Warriors' offense rushed out of the gates and came up with 17 first-half points. Fresno State wasn't quite able to keep up, and the score was 17-13 heading into the break. The offense for Hawaii continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 17 points to put the game away.
QB Chevan Cordeiro had a stellar game for Hawaii as he accumulated 229 passing yards in addition to rushing for two TDs and 116 yards. Cordeiro's longest run was for 54 yards in the fourth quarter. RB Calvin Turner also deserves a shout-out for his two TDs.
The Rainbow Warriors' defense was a presence as well, as it collected three interceptions and one fumble. DB Eugene Ford snatched up two of those interceptions, one with 9:46 left to play in the first quarter, the other with 12:58 remaining in the third quarter.
A silver lining for the Bulldogs was the play of RB Ronnie Rivers, who punched in one rushing touchdown. The game leaves both teams with the exact same record at 0-0.
Hawaii is on the road again next Saturday and plays against the Wyoming Cowboys at 2 p.m. ET Oct. 31 at Jonah Field at War Memorial Stadium. Fresno State will play host again and welcome the Colorado State Rams to Bulldog Stadium, where kick-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET next Saturday.
