Fortunes may be turning around for Fresno State after losing three in a row. Sitting on a score of 20-10, they have looked like the better team, but there's still one more quarter to play. Meanwhile, after a string of eight wins, New Mexico State's good fortune finally ran out two weeks ago. They lost to Liberty on the road by a decisive 49-35 margin. The matchup was a 21-21 toss-up at halftime, but New Mexico State was outscored by Liberty in the second.
New Mexico State's defeat came about despite a quality game from Diego Pavia, who threw for 188 yards and three touchdowns on only 16 passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Trent Hudson was in the mix as well, providing New Mexico State with two touchdowns.
Fresno State's record is now 8-4. As for New Mexico State, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-4.
Going forward, Fresno State is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by 3.5 points. Against the spread, they have been a house darling this year with a chancy 11-15 ATS record.
