Fortunes may be turning around for Old Dominion after losing three in a row. They have jumped out to a 17-10 lead against Georgia Southern. Old Dominion took a bit hit to their ego last Saturday, so a win here would be a pleasant pick-me-up.

The Old Dominion Monarchs will head out on the road to face off against the Georgia Southern Eagles at 6:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at Allen E. Paulson Stadium. Old Dominion is limping into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
Old Dominion gave up the first points and the most points on Saturday. They were dealt a punishing 38-10 defeat at the hands of Liberty. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Old Dominion in their matchups with Liberty: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, the point spread may have favored Georgia Southern last Saturday, but the final result did not. They took a 38-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Marshall. Georgia Southern has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Georgia Southern's defeat came about despite a quality game from Davis Brin, who threw for 307 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Jaylon Barden, who picked up 96 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Georgia Southern, racking up 15 points in total. All those points came courtesy of Michael Lantz: he added 12 points with four field goals, and another three kicking extra points.
Old Dominion's loss dropped their record down to 4-6, while Georgia Southern's bumped their own down to the opposite: 6-4.
In addition to losing their last games, both teams failed to cover the spread. Looking ahead, Georgia Southern is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by seven points. For those looking to play the spread, take note: Old Dominion is a solid 6-2 against the spread when playing as the underdog.
Old Dominion came up short against Georgia Southern when the teams last played back in October of 2022, falling 28-23. Can Old Dominion avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
