Georgia State vs. Western Kentucky Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Georgia State vs. Western Kentucky football game
The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers watched the action from their couches last weekend, but are set to take to the field. They and the Georgia State Panthers will compete for holiday cheer in the LendingTree Bowl on Saturday at Ladd-Peebles Stadium at 3:30 p.m. ET. WKU will be seeking to avenge the 27-17 loss they suffered the last time these two teams played Dec. 16 of 2017.
The Hilltoppers had enough points to win and then some against the Charlotte 49ers three weeks ago, taking their contest 37-19. WKU QB Tyrrell Pigrome was slinging it as he passed for one TD and 218 yards on 27 attempts in addition to picking up 60 yards on the ground.
Special teams collected 16 points for WKU. K Brayden Narveson delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.
Meanwhile, Georgia State didn't have too much breathing room in their game with the Georgia Southern Eagles four weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 30-24 win. No one had a standout game offensively for Georgia State, but they got scores from RB Destin Coates and WR Cornelius McCoy.
WKU is expected to lose this next one by 3.5. Currently 2-6-1 against the spread, they haven't been a good investment; on the other hand, the Panthers are 6-2 ATS.
A couple defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: The Hilltoppers rank seventh in the nation when it comes to passing yards allowed per game, with only 170.1 on average. On the other end of the spectrum, Georgia State is 12th worst in the nation in passing yards allowed per game, with 284.1 on average.
