The Pittsburgh Panthers won their last game against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, and it was the same story this time around. Pitt came out on top against Georgia Tech by a score of 34-20 on Thursday. The success represented a nice turnaround for the Panthers, who in their last game suffered a tough 52-17 loss.
Pitt took a little while to warm up, but they followed up a slow three-point first quarter with 13 points in the second. Georgia Tech countered with 7 points. The offense for Pitt continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 18 points to put the game away.
RB Vincent Davis had only a few touches two weeks ago, but he got the ball a lot more this time and made it count. Davis went supernova for the Panthers as he rushed for one TD and 247 yards on 25 carries. Davis' longest run was for 74 yards in the first quarter. QB Kenny Pickett didn't exactly stuff the stat sheet, but finished with two touchdowns.
Special teams collected 14 points for Pitt. K Alex Kessman delivered a perfect 4-for-4 game.
No one had a standout game offensively for the Yellow Jackets, but they got scores from WR Jalen Camp and TE Dylan Deveney.
The Panthers' win brought them up to 6-5. Georgia Tech's defeat pushed them down to 3-7.
Pitt's regular season is over. As for Georgia Tech, they will face off against the Miami (FL) Hurricanes at noon ET next week at Hard Rock Stadium.
