Houston vs. Tulane updates: Live NCAAF game scores, results for Thursday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Houston vs. Tulane football game
Game Recap
When you finish with 265 more yards than your opponent like the Houston Cougars did on Thursday, a favorable outcome is almost sure to follow. They captured a comfortable 49-31 victory over the Tulane Green Wave. Tulane can consider this payback for the 38-31 loss they dealt Houston the last time the teams encountered one another last September.
RB Mulbah Car and WR Marquez Stevenson were among the main playmakers for Houston as the former punched in two rushing touchdowns and the latter caught five passes for one TD and 118 yards. QB Clayton Tune was nothing to write home about, but finished with three touchdowns.
No one had a standout game offensively for the Green Wave, but QB Michael Pratt led the way with two touchdowns.
The win got Houston back to even at 0-0. The defeat dropped Tulane's record to 2-1.
Houston will play host again and welcome the BYU Cougars to TDECU Stadium, where kick-off is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. ET next week. As for Tulane, they will go up against the SMU Mustangs at 6 p.m. ET next week at Benson Field at Yulman Stadium. Tulane's defense better steel itself: SMU is averaging 44 points per game.
