Iowa State vs. Oklahoma updates: Live NCAAF game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Iowa State vs. Oklahoma football game
Game Recap
After losing to the Oklahoma Sooners the last time they met, the Iowa State Cyclones decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Cyclones came out on top against Oklahoma by a score of 37-30 on Saturday. Thirty-seven seems to be a good number for Iowa State as the team scooped up a win with the same point total in their last-week game.
Iowa State can attribute much of their success to RB Breece Hall, who rushed for two TDs and 139 yards on 28 carries. QB Brock Purdy had a good game, too, finishing with two touchdowns.
Special teams collected 13 points for Iowa State. K Connor Assalley delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.
Despite the defeat, Oklahoma got a solid performance out of QB Spencer Rattler, who passed for two TDs and 300 yards on 36 attempts in addition to punching in one rushing touchdown.
The game leaves both teams with the exact same record at 1-1.
The Cyclones will stay at home against the Texas Tech Red Raiders at 3:30 p.m. ET Oct. 10 at Jack Trice Stadium. Iowa State is 1-0 after wins this season, and Texas Tech is 0-1 after losses. As for Oklahoma, they will face off against the Texas Longhorns at noon ET next Saturday at Cotton Bowl. These teams are both seeking redemption after dropping matches that they were favored to win.
