Iowa vs. Michigan State updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Iowa vs. Michigan State football game
Michigan State has played every game this season on their home field, but they'll have to hit the road on Saturday. They will challenge the Iowa Hawkeyes at 7:30 p.m. ET at Kinnick Stadium. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Michigan State gave up the first points and the most points on Saturday afternoon. Their painful 31-9 loss to Maryland might stick with them for a while.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 41 points the game before, Iowa faltered in their matchup on Saturday. They were completely outmatched by Penn State on the road and fell 31-0. The loss put an end to Iowa's undefeated season.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, the Hawkeyes weren't very productive on the ground and finished the game with only 20 rushing yards. They were smoked by their opponents in that department as Penn State rushed for 215.
The loss dropped Michigan State back to even at 2-2. Iowa's loss on Saturday dropped their record down to 3-1.
In addition to losing their last games, both both teams failed to cover the spread. Looking ahead, Iowa is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by 11.5 points. Anyone thinking of taking Michigan State against the spread should keep this in mind: the team hasn't covered the last three times they've played Iowa.
