Kansas State vs. West Virginia Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Kansas State vs. West Virginia football game
The Kansas State Wildcats haven't won a contest against the West Virginia Mountaineers since Dec. 5 of 2015, but they'll be looking to end the drought on Saturday. K-State and West Virginia will face off in a Big 12 battle at noon ET at Bill Snyder Family Stadium. The Wildcats will be strutting in after a win while West Virginia will be stumbling in from a loss.
When you finish with 225 more yards than your opponent like K-State did last week, a favorable outcome is almost sure to follow. They put the hurt on the Kansas Jayhawks with a sharp 35-10 victory. RB Deuce Vaughn went supernova for K-State as he rushed for three TDs and 162 yards on 11 carries. One of the most memorable plays of the matchup was Vaughn's 80-yard touchdown rush in the third quarter. Vaughn's sharp performance set his single-game rushing touchdown high for the season.
Meanwhile, the Mountaineers found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 24-3 punch to the gut against the Oklahoma State Cowboys last week. QB Jarret Doege had a memorable game, but not in the way you want to be remembered: besides failing to produce a single touchdown, he threw one interception with only 4.95 yards per passing attempt.
The Wildcats are the favorite in this one, with an expected 6.5-point margin of victory. They have been consistent moneymakers against the spread when favored (3-0-1), so they might be worth a quick bet.
K-State's victory brought them up to 6-3 while West Virginia's defeat pulled them down to 4-5. A pair of stats to keep an eye on: K-State is 156th worst in the nation in thrown interceptions, having thrown six on the season. The Mountaineers have experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the game with the 194th most thrown interceptions in the nation, having thrown eight on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
