The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns won the last time they faced the Appalachian State Mountaineers, and things went their way on Saturday, too. The Ragin' Cajuns came out on top against Appalachian State by a score of 24-16.
The game started off well for Louisiana, whose offense put up 17 first-half points. Appalachian State wasn't quite able to keep up, and the score was 17-7 heading into the break. Louisiana was outperformed in the second half 9-7 but had enough points saved up to walk away with the win.
Among those leading the charge for Louisiana was RB Emani Bailey, who rushed for one TD and 117 yards on 14 carries. QB Levi Lewis had a good game, too, finishing with two touchdowns.
No one had a standout game offensively for the Mountaineers, but they got scores from WR Thomas Hennigan and RB Camerun Peoples.
The victory bumped the Ragin' Cajuns' record up to 12-1. The loss dropped Appalachian State's record to 10-3. With that, the West Division playoffs come to an end.
