Live scores, highlights and updates from the Louisiana vs. Coastal Carolina football game
Game Recap
It was all tied up 13-13 at the half for the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers and the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns last Wednesday, but Coastal Carolina stepped up in the second half for a 30-27 victory. The Ragin' Cajuns can consider this payback for the 48-7 loss they dealt the Chanticleers the last time the teams encountered one another last November.
Coastal Carolina QB Grayson McCall was slinging it as he passed for two TDs and 202 yards on 24 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 45 yards. We would be remiss not to mention K Massimo Biscardi, too, whose 40-yard field goal in the fourth quarter was the deciding factor in the game.
A silver lining for Louisiana was the play of QB Levi Lewis, who passed for one TD and 173 yards on 24 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 84 yards. Lewis' longest run was for 51 yards in the fourth quarter.
The win improved Coastal Carolina's record to 3-0. Louisiana's overall record fell to an identical 3-0.
Coastal Carolina will take on the Georgia Southern Eagles at noon ET on Saturday at home. Like the Chanticleers, Georgia Southern is also coming into the contest bolstered by a recent win. As for the Ragin' Cajuns, they will go up against the UAB Blazers at 8 p.m. ET on Friday at Legion Field. Louisiana is expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the matchup prepared for a fight.
