Arizona strolled past Northern Arizona with points to spare, taking the game 38-3. QB Jayden de Laura looked spectacular while leading his team to the win, throwing for 285 yards and three touchdowns on 24 attempts. Securing the other side of the line was S Dalton Johnson, who stumped the offense to the tune of five tackles.
Meanwhile, winning is just a little bit easier when you post 317 more yards than your opponent, a fact Mississippi State proved on Saturday. Everything went their way against SE Louisiana as they made off with a 48-7 win. Mississippi State pushed the score to 27-7 by the end of the third, a deficit SE Louisiana had littlechance of recovering from.
Arizona will need to dig deep on Saturday, as the experts think they're headed for a loss. They finished last season with an even 6-6 record against the spread.
Arizona lost to Mississippi State on the road by a decisive 39-17 margin in their previous matchup last September. Can Arizona avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
