Nevada vs. Fresno State Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Nevada vs. Fresno State football game
Game Recap
The Nevada Wolf Pack had a rough outing against the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors last week, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Nevada came out on top against the Fresno State Bulldogs by a score of 37-26 on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for the Wolf Pack, who also won the last time these teams played (Nov. 23 of last year).
Nevada's WR Tory Horton looked sharp as he caught five passes for three TDs and 148 yards. That receiving effort made it the first game that Horton has posted more than 100 yards receiving. On the other hand, RB Toa Taua had a very so-so game, which wouldn't be worth mentioning except that he carried the ball significantly more than any other Nevada running back.
Fresno State's defeat came about despite a quality game from QB Jake Haener, who passed for two TDs and 485 yards on 65 attempts in addition to punching in one rushing touchdown.
Nevada's win brought them up to 6-1. Fresno State's overall record fell to 3-2.
Nevada will take on the San Jose State Spartans at 10 p.m. ET next Friday at CEFCU Stadium. The Wolf Pack will need a sterling offensive performance if they want to penetrate an unbending defense that has allowed an average of only 17 points per game. The Bulldogs will hit the road for the fourth straight week as they head to Sam Boyd Stadium at 3 p.m. ET next Saturday. Like them, the New Mexico Lobos are looking to wash their mouths of the taste of defeat after falling 16-10 to the Wyoming Cowboys.
