Nevada vs. San Diego State: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Nevada vs. San Diego State football game
Game Recap
After a dominant victory in their game last week, the San Diego State Aztecs were humbled on Saturday. They were within a late touchdown of stealing the win, but they took the "L" against the Nevada Wolf Pack 26-21. The Aztecs haven't found any success against Nevada since Nov. 18 of 2017, this loss making it three in a row.
Nevada can attribute much of their success to WR Romeo Doubs, who caught five passes for one TD and 133 yards. One of the most thrilling moments was Doubs' 50-yard TD reception in the third quarter. QB Carson Strong had a good game, too, finishing with two touchdowns.
Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, which contributed 14. K Brandon Talton delivered a perfect 4-for-4 game.
QB Lucas Johnson put forth a good effort for the losing side as he passed for one TD and 184 yards on 24 attempts in addition to punching in one rushing touchdown.
The defeat dropped San Diego State's record to 3-2. The victory for Nevada kept them a perfect 5-0.
San Diego State is on the road again next Friday and plays against the Fresno State Bulldogs at 9 p.m. ET Nov. 27 at Bulldog Stadium. As for the Wolf Pack, they will go up against the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors at 11 p.m. ET next Saturday at Hawaiian Airlines Field at Aloha Stadium. Nevada's scoring has been on the decline the past three games, which is obviously a trend Hawaii hopes will continue.
