Nevada vs. UNLV updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Nevada vs. UNLV football game
Nevada will be in front of their home fans on Saturday, but a look at the spread shows they might need that home-field advantage. They will take on the UNLV Rebels at 5:00 p.m. ET on Saturday. Nevada is staggering into the matchup hobbled by 15 consecutive losses dating back to last season, while UNLV will skip in buoyed by three consecutive wins.
Nevada traveled a rocky road last season, and unfortunately for them the road hasn't gotten any smoother. They took a 27-9 bruising from Fresno State two Saturdays ago. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Nevada in their matchups with Fresno State: they've now lost three in a row.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, the Wolf Pack were plagued by a slow offense and finished the game with only 3.3 yards per play. They were smoked by their opponents in that department as Fresno State advanced 6.9.
Meanwhile, UNLV took their victory against Hawaii two Saturdays ago by a conclusive 44-20.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead UNLV to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayden Maiava, who threw for 142 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Donavyn Lester, who rushed for 98 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries.
Special teams played a big role in the game for UNLV, adding 14 points to the final score. All those points came courtesy of Jose Pizano: he added nine points with three field goals, and another five kicking extra points.
Nevada's loss was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-5. UNLV has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in four of their first five matches, giving them a 4-1 record.
While only UNLV took care of their fans the last time they played, both teams pleased bettors by covering the spread. Looking forward, UNLV is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by ten points. This contest might not be the best time to bet them against the spread since they've let bettors down the last five times they've played.
Nevada came up short against UNLV in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, falling 27-22. Will Nevada have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check CBS Sports after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more college football content.
