North Texas vs. UAB Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the North Texas vs. UAB football game
The North Texas Mean Green will be in front of their home fans this weekend, but a projected 3-point deficit forecasts there might not be much to cheer about. North Texas and the UAB Blazers will face off in a Conference USA battle at 4 p.m. ET on Saturday at Apogee Stadium. Coming off of a loss in a game they were expected to win, the Mean Green now face the more daunting task of proving themselves against unfavorable odds.
Last week, North Texas was within a late touchdown of stealing the win, but they took the "L" against the Rice Owls 20-14. QB Mason Fine wasn't much of a difference maker for North Texas; despite one touchdown, he threw one interception with only 163 yards passing.
Meanwhile, UAB didn't have too much breathing room in their game with the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, but they still walked away with a 20-14 victory. No one had a big game offensively for UAB, but they got scores from TE Gerrit Prince and RB Lucious Stanley.
UAB's victory lifted them to 8-3 while North Texas' defeat dropped them down to 4-7. Two defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: The Mean Green are 11th worst in the nation in rushing touchdowns allowed, with 29 on the season. To make matters even worse for the Mean Green, the Blazers come into the contest boasting the fifth fewest passing yards allowed per game in the league at 169.3. So the cards are definitely stacked in the Blazers' favor.
