Notre Dame vs. Toledo: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Notre Dame vs. Toledo football game
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will take on the Toledo Rockets at 2:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at home. These two teams have set a high bar for this game after stand-out offensive performances in their previous games.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Fighting Irish ultimately got the result they were hoping for this past Sunday with a 41-38 win over the Florida State Seminoles. Notre Dame QB Jack Coan was slinging it as he passed for four TDs and 366 yards on 35 attempts.
Special teams collected 11 points for Notre Dame. K Jonathan Doerer booted in two field goals, the longest a 48-yarder in the second quarter, which ultimately accounted for the difference in the contest.
Meanwhile, Toledo was hampered by 125 penalty yards against the Norfolk State Spartans last week, but luckily for them that wasn't the tale of the game. Toledo put a hurting on Norfolk State at home to the tune of 49-10. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-7. Toledo's success was spearheaded by the efforts of RB Bryant Koback, who punched in two rushing touchdowns, and QB Dequan Finn, who accumulated 38 passing yards in addition to rushing for one TD and 82 yards.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 1-0. We'll see which team can carry over their success and which team inevitably falls when the Fighting Irish and the Rockets clash.
