Oklahoma vs. Arizona: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Thursday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Oklahoma vs. Arizona football game
The Oklahoma Sooners and the Arizona Wildcats will square off in the Alamo Bowl at Alamodome 9:15 p.m. ET on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Oklahoma comes in on three and Arizona on six.
Even though TCU scored an imposing 45 points back in November, Oklahoma still came out on top. Everything went Oklahoma's way against TCU as Oklahoma made off with a 69-45 win. With Oklahoma ahead 42-16 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Oklahoma's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Gavin Sawchuk, who rushed for 130 yards and three touchdowns, and Dillon Gabriel, who threw for 400 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.5 yards per attempt. Billy Bowman Jr. made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Meanwhile, Arizona scored the most points they've had all season to find success back in November. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 59-23 victory over Arizona State. Arizona pushed the score to 52-15 by the end of the third, a deficit Arizona State cut but never quite recovered from.
Noah Fifita was a one-man wrecking crew for Arizona as he threw for 527 yards and five touchdowns while completing 73.2% of his passes. Jacob Cowing also helped out as he racked up 157 receiving yards.
Oklahoma pushed their record up to 10-2 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.3 points per game. As for Arizona, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.
While fans of Oklahoma and Arizona were happy after their last outing, their bettors probably weren't as neither team covered. Looking forward, Oklahoma is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by 2.5 points. For those looking to play the spread, take note: Arizona is a solid 11-5 against the spread when playing as the underdog.
Keep an eye on the quarterbacks in this one, as both the pair don't mess around when it comes to the passing game. The Sooners have been excellent in the air this season, having averaged 321.8 passing yards per game. However, it's not like the Wildcats struggle in that department as they've been averaging 304.5 passing yards per game. It's looking like Thursday's matchup might be a classic QB duel.
