Oklahoma vs. Iowa State updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Oklahoma vs. Iowa State football game
The Oklahoma Sooners and the Iowa State Cyclones are set to square off in a Big 12 matchup at noon ET Nov. 20 at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. The teams split their matchups last year, with Iowa State winning the first 37-30 at home and the Sooners taking the second 27-21.
It was all tied up 7-7 at halftime, but Oklahoma was not quite the Baylor Bears' equal in the second half when they met last week. Oklahoma took a 27-14 hit to the loss column. QB Caleb Williams had a pretty forgettable game, throwing two interceptions with only 146 yards passing.
Meanwhile, it was close but no cigar for Iowa State as they fell 41-38 to the Texas Tech Red Raiders last week. This was hardly the result Iowa State or its fans were betting on, as they were favored by 12.5 points over Texas Tech heading into this matchup. The Cyclones' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of RB Breece Hall, who punched in two rushing touchdowns in addition to snatching one receiving TD, and QB Brock Purdy, who passed for three TDs and 356 yards on 42 attempts in addition to picking up 34 yards on the ground.
The Sooners are now 9-1 while Iowa State sits at 6-4. Two defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: Oklahoma is stumbling into the contest with the 218th most passing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up 20 on the season. Iowa States have had an even harder time: they are 184th worst in the nation in passing touchdowns allowed, with 16 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
