Oregon State vs. Hawaii: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Oregon State vs. Hawaii football game
Game Recap
The Oregon State Beavers had a rough outing against the Purdue Boilermakers last week, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Oregon State enjoyed a cozy 45-27 win over the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors on Saturday. For the Beavers, this is just revenge for the 31-28 defeat they suffered against Hawaii the last time they faced one another on Sept. 8 of 2019.
Oregon State started the game off right with 24 first-half points. Hawaii wasn't quite able to keep up, and the score was 24-7 heading into the break. The offense for Oregon State continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 21 points to put the game away.
Oregon State's RB B.J. Baylor was on fire, rushing for three TDs and 171 yards on 18 carries. One of the most memorable plays of the contest was Baylor's 66-yard touchdown rush in the first quarter. QB Chance Nolan had a good game, too, finishing with two touchdowns.
The losing side was boosted by RB Calvin Turner, who punched in two rushing touchdowns in addition to catching seven passes for one TD and 106 yards.
The win got the Beavers back to even at 1-1. The Rainbow Warriors' loss pushed them down to 1-2.
Oregon State will be hunkering down at home again for their matchup against the Idaho Vandals at 3:30 p.m. ET Sept. 18 at Reser Stadium. Unlike Oregon State, Idaho will be stumbling in off of a defeat. As for Hawaii, they will face off against the San Jose State Spartans next week at Clarence T.C. Ching Complex. Like Hawaii, SJSU is looking to wash their mouths of the taste of defeat after falling 30-7 to the USC Trojans.
