Live scores, highlights and updates from the Oregon State vs. Stanford football game
Game Recap
The Stanford Cardinal won their last game against the Oregon State Beavers, and it was the same story this time around. On Saturday, the Cardinal narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Oregon State 27-24. Having forecasted a close victory for Stanford, the oddsmakers were right on the money.
Stanford got off to a sluggish start, posting nine total points in the first half. As for Oregon State, they scored 14 to put Stanford at a 14-9 disadvantage heading into the break. The Stanford offense took control in the second half, however, scoring 18 points.
Stanford QB Davis Mills was slinging it as he passed for one TD and 292 yards on 29 attempts in addition to punching in two rushing touchdowns. That's the most rushing touchdowns Mills has had all year. The Cardinal also relied on the talents of K Jet Toner, whose two field goals, the longest a 47-yard boot in the second quarter, proved pivotal in the final score.
The Beavers' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of QB Chance Nolan, who passed for three TDs and 221 yards on 30 attempts in addition to picking up 50 yards on the ground, and WR Tyjon Lindsey, who snatched two receiving TDs.
Stanford's win brought them up to 3-2. Oregon State's loss pushed them down to 2-4. With that, the North Division playoffs come to an end.
