Oregon vs. Stony Brook updates: Live NCAAF game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Oregon vs. Stony Brook football game
Game Recap
You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for the Oregon Ducks on Saturday. They put a hurting on the Stony Brook Seawolves at home to the tune of 48-7. The margin was wide but not a surprise since the spread was 42 points in Oregon's favor.
The game started off well for the Ducks, whose offense put up 17 first-half points. Stony Brook wasn't quite able to keep up, and the score was 17-7 heading into the break. Oregon put the matchup away in the third quarter with 14 points from the offense and zero points allowed from the defense.
Oregon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but RB Travis Dye led the charge as he punched in one rushing touchdown. QB Ty Thompson didn't exactly stuff the stat sheet, but finished with two touchdowns.
Oregon's defense was a presence as well, as it collected three interceptions and one fumble. S Verone McKinley III picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown.
The Seawolves' only offensive touchdown came from RB Ty Son Lawton.
The Ducks' victory brought them up to 3-0. Stony Brook's defeat pushed them down to 1-2.
Oregon will play host again and welcome the Arizona Wildcats to Autzen Stadium, where kick-off is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET next Saturday. Arizona is also hoping to continue their momentum after a 13-7 win over the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks on Saturday. As for the Seawolves, they will face off against the Fordham Rams at 3:30 p.m. ET next Saturday at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium. Fordham is looking for a pick-me-up after a 45-14 blowout loss to the Florida Atlantic Owls.
