San Jose State vs. Utah State: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the San Jose State vs. Utah State football game
Game Recap
When you finish with 260 more yards than your opponent like the Utah State Aggies did on Saturday, a favorable outcome is almost sure to follow. They took their matchup against the San Jose State Spartans by a conclusive 48-17 score. That result was just more of the same for the Aggies, who also won the last time these teams played (Nov. 10 of 2018).
quarterIt took a quarter to shake off the cobwebs, but after zero 1st quarter points, the Utah State offense picked up 24 points in the second quarter. SJSU wasn't quite able to keep up, and the score was 24-14 heading into the break. Utah State's offense just added to that total in the second half en route to their big win.
Utah State's QB Logan Bonner did his thing and passed for four TDs and 263 yards on 35 attempts. WR Derek Wright also deserves a shout-out for his two TDs.
No one had a standout game offensively for SJSU, but they got scores from CB Kenyon Reed and RB Tyler Nevens.
Utah State's win brought them up to 8-2. The Spartans have fallen quite a ways from their 7-1 record from last season and are now 5-6.
The Aggies will take on the Wyoming Cowboys at 8 p.m. ET next Saturday at Merlin Olsen Field at Maverik Stadium. Unlike Utah State, Wyoming will be stumbling in off of a defeat. SJSU has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome the Fresno State Bulldogs at 3:30 p.m. ET Nov. 25 at CEFCU Stadium.
