There are important plays that keep the game alive, and then there are fourth-and-26 situations in overtime. Given the gravity of the situation, SMU's miraculous fourth-down overtime conversion against Cincinnati might go down as the play of Week 8.

The Mustangs were faced with the aforementioned down and distance during the first and only overtime possession, for which there is almost no reasonable play in the playbook. Still, quarterback Ben Hicks completed a 28-yard pass to Trey Quinn after rolling out to his right.

SMU kicked a go-ahead field goal four plays later and intercepted a Hayden Moore pass on their first defensive possession of overtime to give the Mustangs the 31-28 win. That's about as dramatic as it comes.
