SMU vs. Tulsa updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the SMU vs. Tulsa football game
If the oddsmakers' predictions hold true, the near future looks bright for SMU. They will be playing at home against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane at 12:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at Gerald J. Ford Stadium. SMU will be strutting in after a victory while Tulsa will be stumbling in from a loss.
SMU had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They steamrolled past Temple 55-0 on the road. The result was nothing new for SMU, who have now won four games by 21 points or more so far this season.
Preston Stone was his usual excellent self, throwing for 300 yards and two touchdowns, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Kevin Jennings also helped with two touchdowns in total.
Meanwhile, Tulsa gave up the first points and the most points on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Rice, falling 42-10. Tulsa didn't live up to their potential and found themselves falling short of the advantage oddsmakers thought they had coming into the game.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, the Golden Hurricane weren't very productive in the air and finished the game with only 138 passing yards. They were destroyed by their opponents in that department as Rice passed for 342.
SMU has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Tulsa, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
As mentioned, SMU is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by 21 points. For those looking to play the spread, take note: they are a solid 4-1 against the spread when expected to win.
SMU beat Tulsa 45-34 in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Does SMU have another victory up their sleeve, or will Tulsa turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
