South Alabama vs. Louisiana: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the South Alabama vs. Louisiana football game
Game Recap
The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns won the last time they met up with the South Alabama Jaguars, and they shouldn't regret having come to the reunion, either. Louisiana sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 20-18 win on Saturday. The overall outcome was to be expected, but South Alabama made it more of a matchup than the oddsmakers had predicted.
The Ragin' Cajuns' offense rushed out of the gates and came up with 20 first-half points. The Jaguars weren't quite able to keep up, and the score was 20-6 heading into the break. Louisiana almost let the game get away from them in the second half, but they had just enough oomph to take it.
The victory improved Louisiana's record to 4-1. With their first defeat of the season, South Alabama fell to 3-1.
The Ragin' Cajuns will look to defend their home turf next week against the Appalachian State Mountaineers at 7:30 p.m. ET. Louisiana is 3-0 after wins this season, Appalachian State 2-1. As for South Alabama, they will face off against the Texas State Bobcats at 7 p.m. ET next Saturday at Jim Wacker Field at Bobcat Stadium. Like the Jaguars, Texas State is looking to wash their mouths of the taste of defeat after falling 59-21 to the Eastern Michigan Eagles.
