The Kentucky Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the South Carolina Gamecocks at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at Williams-Brice Stadium. Despite being away, Kentucky is looking at a 1.5-point advantage in the spread.
Kentucky gave up the first points and the most points on Saturday. They were dealt a punishing 49-21 loss at the hands of Alabama. Kentucky has not had much luck with Alabama recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Kentucky had strong showings from Ray Davis, who gained 58 total yards and two touchdowns, and Ramon Jefferson, who rushed for 73 yards. Jefferson really tore up the turf during one magnificent 74-yard run.
Meanwhile, South Carolina was fully in charge on Saturday, breezing past Vanderbilt 47-6 at home. The victory made it back-to-back wins for South Carolina.
South Carolina can attribute much of their success to Spencer Rattler, who threw for 351 yards and three touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also punched in a rushing scores. Mario Anderson and his 102 yards on the ground were also a key factor in South Carolina's win.
Alabama's victory bumped their season record to 9-1 while Kentucky's loss dropped theirs to 6-4.
South Carolina is hoping to beat the odds on Saturday, as the experts think they're headed for a loss. This will be their first time playing as the underdogs at home this season.
Kentucky came up short against South Carolina when the teams last played back in October of 2022, falling 24-14. Can Kentucky avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
