Syracuse vs. Clemson: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Friday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Syracuse vs. Clemson football game
Game Recap
The Clemson Tigers won the last time they met up with the Syracuse Orange, and they shouldn't regret having come to the reunion, either. Clemson had just enough and edged out 'Cuse 17-14. The overall outcome was to be expected, but the Orange made it more of a contest than the oddsmakers had predicted.
After a totally unproductive first quarter, the Clemson offense stepped up its game and put 14 points on the board in the second quarter. 'Cuse wasn't quite able to keep up, and the score was 14-7 heading into the break. Clemson almost let the game get away from them in the second half, but they had just enough oomph to take it.
Clemson's RB Kobe Pace filled up the stat sheet, punching in one rushing touchdown.
The losing side was boosted by RB Sean Tucker, who picked up 157 yards on the ground on 22 carries. Tucker's longest run was for 54 yards in the first quarter.
The win improved the Tigers' record to 4-2. The defeat dropped the Orange's record to 3-4.
Clemson will hit the road for the second straight week as they head to Heinz Field at 3:30 p.m. ET next week. As for 'Cuse, they will face off against the Virginia Tech Hokies at 12:30 p.m. ET next week at Lane Stadium/Worsham Field.
