Syracuse vs. Rutgers updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Syracuse vs. Rutgers football game
The Syracuse Orange will take on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights at 2 p.m. ET on Saturday at home.
'Cuse had enough points to win and then some against the Ohio Bobcats last week, taking their game 29-9. The Orange's RB Sean Tucker looked sharp as he rushed for one TD and 181 yards on 25 carries.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the contest if you win every quarter, and that was precisely RU's strategy against the Temple Owls last week. The Scarlet Knights took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 61-14 win over Temple. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point RU had established a 40-14 advantage. Their success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but QB Noah Vedral led the charge as he passed for one TD and 138 yards on 27 attempts in addition to picking up 58 yards on the ground.
RU's defense was a force to be reckoned with, as it collected two interceptions and three fumbles. The picks came courtesy of DB Tre Avery and DB Max Melton.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 1-0. We'll see which team can carry over their success and which team inevitably falls when the Orange and the Scarlet Knights clash.
