Texas A&M vs. Auburn updates: Live NCAA Football game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Texas A&M vs. Auburn football game
The Texas A&M Aggies will be playing in front of their home fans against the Auburn Tigers at 12:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at Kyle Field. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Texas A&M's strategy against UL Monroe on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Texas A&M blew UL Monroe out of the water with a 47-3 final score. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 27-3.
QB Conner Weigman looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 337 yards and a touchdown, while also rushing for 18 yards and a touchdown. Weigman wound up with a passer rating of 195.2. WR Jahdae Walker also helped out as he racked up 110 receiving yards.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Texas A&M, racking up 16 points in total. All those points came courtesy of K Randy Bond: he added 12 points with four field goals, and another four kicking extra points. His longest was a 52-yard strike in the fourth quarter.
Meanwhile, Auburn humbled Samford with a 45-13 smackdown.
QB Payton Thorne was a one-man wrecking crew for Auburn as he threw for 282 yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns. It was a true group effort though, as the team also got help from QB Robby Ashford, who threw for 58 yards and a touchdown.
Looking ahead, Texas A&M are the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by 7.5 points. This contest will be their third straight as the favorites (a stretch that saw them go 2-1 against the spread).
Texas A&M couldn't quite finish off Auburn in their previous matchup last November and fell 13-10. Will Texas A&M have more luck at home instead of on the road? Watch the game or check back on CBS Sports to find out.
