TTU vs. KSU: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Texas Tech vs. Kansas State football game
Game Recap
The Texas Tech Red Raiders had a rough go of it November of last year when they matched up with the Kansas State Wildcats and had to endure more of the same on Saturday. Texas Tech fell just short of K-State by a score of 30-27. The over/under? 57. So nice work, oddsmakers; you hit the bull's eye here.
No one had a big game offensively for K-State, but they got scores from WR Chabastin Taylor and WR Phillip Brooks. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget WR Joshua Youngblood, who went all the way with a kickoff return for touchdown in the third quarter?
QB Jett Duffey and WR RJ Turner were two go-getters for the Red Raiders despite the defeat. The former accumulated 334 passing yards and picked up 57 yards on the ground on nine carries, while the latter caught seven passes for 141 yards and one TD. One of the most thrilling moments of the matchup was Turner's 58-yard TD reception in the fourth quarter.
Texas Tech will square off against the Texas Longhorns at noon ET next week at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium/Jamail Field. Texas Tech might not be the betting favorite, but it's doubtful the players in their locker room care too much about that. As for the Wildcats, they will go up against the Iowa State Cyclones at 11:11 a.m. ET at Bill Snyder Family Stadium. These teams both are tiptoeing into their game after sneaking past their previous opponents.
