The Tulane Green Wave weren't able to make up for their defeat to the UCF Knights from their previous meeting last November. The Green Wave took a 51-34 bruising from UCF on Saturday. Tulane hasn't found any success against the Knights since Oct. 3 of 2015, this loss making it three in a row.
QB Dillon Gabriel had a stellar game for UCF as he passed for five TDs and 422 yards on 40 attempts. Gabriel's 54-yard touchdown toss to WR Marlon Williams in the first quarter made for one of the most memorable moments of the afternoon. RB Greg McCrae and his 162 yards on the ground were another key factor in UCF's victory.
Despite the defeat, Tulane got a solid performance out of RB Stephon Huderson, who punched in one rushing touchdown.
The Green Wave's defeat makes it three in a row and drags their record down to 2-4. The win bumped the Knights' record up to 3-2.
Tulane will take on the Temple Owls at 1 p.m. ET next Saturday at Benson Field at Yulman Stadium. Tulane is 1-2 after losses this season, Temple 1-0. As for UCF, they will go up against the Houston Cougars at 1 p.m. ET next Saturday at TDECU Stadium. Houston is also hoping to continue their momentum after a 37-21 win over the Navy Midshipmen on Saturday.
