Live scores, highlights and updates from the UCLA vs. California football game
Game Recap
The UCLA Bruins won the last time they met up with the California Golden Bears, and they shouldn't regret having come to the reunion, either. The Bruins made easy work of California on Saturday and carried off a 42-14 victory. The score was close at the half, but UCLA pulled away in the second half with 25 points.
UCLA took a little while to warm up, but they followed up a slow three-point first quarter with 14 points in the second. California was right behind to make the score 17-14 heading into the break. The offense for UCLA continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 25 points to put the game away.
QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson continued his habit of dropping crazy stat lines, passing for three TDs and 164 yards on 28 attempts in addition to picking up 102 yards on the ground.
The Bruins' defense was a presence as well, as it got past the Golden Bears' offensive line to sack QB Chase Garbers four times for a total loss of 23 yards. It was a group effort with four guys contributing.
No one had a standout game offensively for California, but RB Christopher Brown Jr. led the way with one touchdown.
The win improved UCLA's record to 8-4. California's loss pushed them down to 4-7.
UCLA's regular season is over. The Golden Bears will be playing at home against the USC Trojans at 11 p.m. ET next Saturday. Like California, USC is looking to wash their mouths of the taste of defeat after falling 35-31 to the BYU Cougars.
