UTSA vs. Southern Miss updates: Live NCAAF game scores, results for Saturday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the UTSA vs. Southern Miss football game
Game Recap
It was all tied up 10-10 at halftime, but the Southern Miss Golden Eagles were not quite the UTSA Roadrunners' equal in the second half when they met on Saturday. Southern Miss fell to the Roadrunners 27-17. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Eagles of the 23-20 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head last November.
WR Joshua Cephus hadn't helped UTSA's cause all that much against the UTEP Miners last week, but the same can't be said for this contest. UTSA's success was spearheaded by the efforts of QB Frank Harris, who passed for two TDs and 227 yards on 30 attempts in addition to picking up 54 yards on the ground, and Cephus, who caught eight passes for one TD and 106 yards.
A silver lining for Southern Miss was the play of RB Frank Gore Jr., who rushed for one TD and 123 yards on 20 carries.
Southern Miss' overall record fell to 1-9. The Roadrunners' win brought them up to 10-0.
The Golden Eagles will square off against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs at 8 p.m. ET next Friday at Joe Aillet Stadium. UTSA will stay at home against the UAB Blazers at 3:30 p.m. ET Nov. 20 at Alamodome. Like UTSA, UAB is also coming into the matchup bolstered by a recent victory.
