Virginia Tech vs. Middle Tenn. Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAA Football game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Virginia Tech vs. Middle Tenn. football game
The Virginia Tech Hokies have the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome the Middle Tenn. Blue Raiders at 2 p.m. ET Sept. 11 at Lane Stadium/Worsham Field.
The Hokies netted a 17-10 win over the North Carolina Tar Heels last Friday. Virginia Tech QB Braxton Burmeister was slinging it as he passed for one TD and 169 yards on 19 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 53 yards.
Virginia Tech's defense was a presence as well, as it embarrassed UNC's offensive line to sack QB Sam Howell six times for a total loss of 35 yards. Leading the way was DL Amare Barno and his 2.5 sacks. Those were the first sacks for Barno.
Meanwhile, Middle Tenn. took their contest at home last week with ease, bagging a 50-15 victory over the Monmouth Hawks. Middle Tenn. QB Bailey Hockman did work as he passed for three TDs and 215 yards on 23 attempts.
Middle Tenn.'s defense was a presence as well, as it collected one interception and three fumbles. CB Teldrick Ross picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 1-0. Watch the matchup and check back on CBS Sports to find out who keeps up the positive energy and who hits a stumbling block.
