Live scores, highlights and updates from the Washington vs. Stanford football game
Game Recap
The Stanford Cardinal won the last time they faced the Washington Huskies, and things went their way on Saturday, too. Stanford secured a 31-26 W over Washington.
The Cardinal started the contest off right with 24 first-half points. The Huskies weren't quite able to keep up, and the score was 24-3 heading into the break. Stanford couldn't replicate their first half dominance, getting outscored after the break, but not by enough to lose the game.
RB Austin Jones was the offensive standout of the matchup for Stanford, rushing for two TDs and 138 yards on 31 carries.
Washington's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of QB Dylan Morris, who accumulated 254 passing yards in addition to rushing for one TD and 36 yards, and RB Sean McGrew, who punched in two rushing touchdowns. That's the most rushing touchdowns McGrew has had all year.
The win got the Cardinal back to even at 2-2. With their first loss of the season, the Huskies fell to 3-1.
Stanford will take on the Oregon State Beavers at 3 p.m. ET next Saturday at Reser Stadium. Like Stanford, Oregon State is also coming into the matchup bolstered by a recent victory. As for Washington, they will face off against the Oregon Ducks at 3 p.m. ET next Saturday at Autzen Stadium. These teams are both seeking redemption after dropping matches that they were favored to win.
