The Washington Huskies will look to defend their home turf on Saturday against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane at 5:00 p.m. ET at Alaska Airlines Field at Husky Stadium. The pair might be coming in a bit winded given how much these teams ran in their prior games.

Washington took care of business in their home opener on Saturday (and then some). They blew past Boise State 56-19. Washington pushed the score to 35-19 by the end of the third, a deficit Boise State had littlechance of recovering from.

QB Michael Penix Jr. had a stellar game as he threw for 450 yards and five touchdowns on 40 attempts. Penix Jr. wound up with a passer rating of 208.3. It was a true group effort though, and the team also got help from WR Jalen McMillan, who posted 95 yards and two touchdowns plus two rushing scores.

Meanwhile, winning is just a little bit easier when you post 265 more yards than your opponent, a fact Tulsa proved on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 42-7 victory over Arkansas Pine Bluff. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Tulsa had established a 28 point advantage.

Tulsa can attribute much of their success to WR Marquis Shoulders, who found the endzone twice on 132 receiving yards, and QB Cardell Williams, who threw for 233 yards and three touchdowns on 14 attempts. Shoulders' longest reception was for an incredible80 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of RB Jordan Ford, who rushed for 110 yards and punched in a rushing TD.

Looking ahead, Washington is the favorite in this one, and the experts expect to see them win by 34 points. They finished last season with an 8-5 record against the spread.

Washington ought to be happy about their advantage in the spread: the team was a solid 9-2 when favored last season. Huskies fans who chose to bet on their team sure did well last year: betting $100 on them to win every contest netted those bettors $1,560.66. On the other hand, Tulsa was 1-5 as the underdog last season.
