Gordon is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.
The lefty-hitting Gordon will sit for the fourth time in five games, with the Marlins having faced left-handed starting pitchers on each of those four occasions. He'll cede his spot in the lineup to Emmanuel Rivera as the Marlins stock up on an extra right-handed bat to counter Nationals southpaw Mitchell Parker.
